The Storey Emporium
I was commissioned to create the graphics and visual theming for another unique school bus project, this time for Whitley and Eggborough Community Primary School. The brief was to transform a decommissioned double-decker bus into an immersive wizard-themed environment, creating an exciting space for pupils to learn, read and explore. For the exterior, I developed a design featuring books flying from a large bookcase at the front of the bus, travelling along the length of the vehicle and creating a sense of movement and magic. Inside, the wizard theme continued throughout, including framed illustrations of wizards along the stairwell and graphics across the different areas of the bus. We even transformed photographs of the school's teachers into witches, adding a fun and personal element to the design that the pupils could recognise and enjoy. The project brought together graphic design, illustration and imaginative theming to turn an ordinary decommissioned bus into a truly magical learning environment.
The project was led, fitted out and themed by Unconventional Design, with David Johnson as Project Manager, signage installation by M4 Signs, and graphic design by Robert Harrison Graphic Design.
